Objectives

The aim of the School is to bring together leading specialists and young scientists working on various aspects of
laser physics, photonics, polaritonics and quantum information science and discuss the most recent developments in
this area. One of the objectives of this meeting is to create a full scale international cooperation of the scientists from
Russia and oversea countries in the field of physics of light-matter coupling in the multidisciplinary subjects of
Polaritonics, Material Science, Quantum Information Science, Photonics and Nanotechnology. This research field is
of outstanding importance for the fundamental physics and it has multiple applications in micro- and nano-
electronics and nanophotonics. This meeting would offer young researchers the chance to learn about the latest
trends in modern Laser Physics and Photonics directly from the world recognized scientists who are actively
engaged in the field. LP&P-2014 will include lectures of the invited scientists, plenary talks, oral and poster
presentations of young scientists, laboratory tours and excursion.

School Venue

The LP&P-2014 is to be held in Suzdal, in “Pushkarskaya Sloboda Hotel” from 7.11.2014-11.11.2014, and then,
from 11.11.2014-17.11.2014, in Vladimir State University (VlSU), Vladimir. All technical facilities for the meeting,
lectures and discussions will be provided for the participants. Please, contact with

Traveling

Vladimir and Suzdal are the oldest and closely located to each other Russian towns, placed in the very center of the
European part of the country, at the Heart of Russian “Golden Ring”. Vladimir is located in the heart of the historic
Vladimir rgion, on the bank of the Klyazma River 180 kilometers to the northeast from Moscow. The city was
founded in 990. You can take a though train from Moscow, Saint Petersburg, Nizhny Novgorod and other Russian
cities to reach Vladimir. Schedules and prices can be obtained at the “Russian Railways” Co. web site
http://pass.rzd.ru/main-pass/public/en. The time of transportation from Moscow to Vladimir by a fast train is less
than 2,5 hours. Suzdal is an enticingly beautiful, world-wide known city-museum. The town of Suzdal is located
about 30 km away from the city of Vladimir. You can take a bus or a taxi from Vladimir railway station. The
Organizing Committee will work to help the participants with transportation from Vladimir to Suzdal.

Visa to Entry Russia

The LP&P-2014 Organizing Committee will provide a visa support for the conference participants in case they
submit the required information (filled in Application Form and scans of the passport main pages, see Appendix II
below) at least 2 months before the planned trip. For the visa information, please, send Application Form, scans of
the passport pages to School Coordinator, prof. Alexander Alodjants.

Accommodation

The accommodation has been arranged for instructors, invited and plenary speakers in “Pushkarskaya Sloboda”
Hotel from 7.11.2014-11.11.2014. Then, within 11.11.2014-17.11.2014 accommodation will be provided in
Vladimir, in “AMAKS Golden Ring” hotel that is very close to VlSU campus. Young scientists will be hosted at
VlSU campus for the whole period. Special shuttle will be organized to get to School Venue in Suzdal in the period
of 7.11.2014-11.11.2014. Note, that LP&P-2014 participants has some discount for accommodation in the named
hotels. Please, contact with School coordinator, Alexander Alodjants, to arrange your accommodation.

Conditions to attend the School

Eligible to attend the LP&P-2014 are bachelors, magistrates, PhD students, postdocs and young scientists working in
the field of temporal Laser Physics, Fundamental and Applied Photonics, Quantum and Atom Optics. Every attendee
must send the summary of his presentation to Prof. Alexander Alodjants, (see contacts in the bottom of this
announcement), by 10 September, 2014. The summary should not exceed one page and must be typed in Microsoft
Word with the page layout set to A4 (21 cm x 29.7 cm) with 2.00 cm margins on all sides. Please use Times New

Roman font when preparing your summary. Within one page, the author must include the whole text, including the
